How did this my Happy Hour thing start up anyway?

I'm glad you asked! Crack open your favorite tasty beverage and listen in on our little story.

The idea for this site was actually born in November of 1998 -- Thanksgiving weekend to be exact!
Doug, a graduate student at the University of Florida, was drinking some coffee and eating some pancakes with his good buddy Brian at the local Bob Evan's in their home town St. Petersburg, FL.

Since both Doug and Brian had gradated from the University of Florida, they often talked about "the good ole' days" and the crazy nights in Gainesville.
At some point they got to talking about the Internet and Doug said to Brian, "Wouldn't it be great if there was a place on the Internet where we could find out the drink specials for every bar in Gainesville. You know, something like my Happy Hour?"

Doug went back up to Gainesville that afternoon and purchased the web domain name Happy-Hour.net. He spent his Christmas break (much to his mom's dismay) developing the first iteration of my Happy Hour.
A dream was born!

Here we are some years later.
my Happy Hour has found its way to 11 cities across America.
The important statistic is that my Happy Hour helped over 100,000 people a year find a great place to drink (and saved them a couple bucks at the same time).

Maybe my Happy Hour will find its way to your city in the near future... that sure would make us all a little happier
